Played a little catch with Seth on Sunday. Man is he ready. Hard fastballs on the knees and a curve that dropped off a table. And to make it even more scary for the rest of the league, he's added a changeup. Unfair! Hopefully, Henry and I are not too far behind. When do we start? Come on sun!!!!!

Dude, good call. He has a new release for his curveball, I'm sure he showed you - and dang it's a 12 to 6 yakker now! Seth has been very impressive..as a matter of fact he looks even more smoothe in his delivery than I remembered. Which is scary because he's always had a great delivery. It's so smooth, it kind of lulls hitters to sleep sort of. I think Seth is going to throw darts this year, kind of like Larry Hendrickson does.
Here's something to think about: Should we try and cut down on pitches thrown for Seth? Or not care about it? Last season as a rookie, Seth came in 4th in innings pitched (87), but he was 1 strikeout away from 1st in the league in K's with 100. That's phenomenal. The strikeout leader Dennis B. from The Classics had 101 k's, but 25 more innings pitched! Holy shit!
So anyway, what I'm saying is that Seth can definitely pitch for the strikeout, but is that a good thing to game plan with? Striking a guy out usually means you put him away with a pitch on a count of 1-2 or 2-2 or god forbid a 3-2 count, and well that adds up. Why not put the guy away on a 2nd pitch? Show something on the 1st pitch of the at bat, and then toss your out pitch right away on the 2nd pitch. With the defense that I think we have, put the ball in play and get the guy out, right? It's a great way to game plan, because it gives the game a real tempo, and get's the other team back out on the mound and our hitters at the plate sooner, instead of trying to toss a strikeout with all of these great pitches that our #1 starter has. BUT...
Why change? With the huge success that Seth had in his 1st season, why change anything? Ol' Caillait has added some new weapons, but should he try to add a new pitching style along with that?? I just don't know. Hmmm..a quandry has arisen!
What do y'all think? Am I right or am I right?

Good point Pretty Boy. Power/strikeout guys tend to walk more batters and throw lots more pitches, and even in this league walks are pure poison. Said pitcher had 46 BB to go with his 100 K's, that = high pitch counts and that arm of his isn't getting any younger. Maybe throttle back on the velocity and focus more on location and pitch selection, besides isn't that what all aging flamethrowers do? Work smarter not harder.....Yee Haaaw!!!
